The Scene: Impeccable service and show-stopping food makes for awestruck diners. The sensation is akin to witnessing Mikhail Baryshnikov or Michael Jordan practice their art. Wed–Sun 5:30–9:30pm. $$$$
Hot Tip: The tasting menu can include 25 dishes, so be sure to arrive hungry.

Charlie Trotter’s

The Scene: Its exclusive Streeterville location exudes drama, from the dark and moody entrance to the luminescent dining room. Diners exchange refined banter with the waitstaff, who delight in their highly choreographed service techniques. The trademark caviar service on a small glass staircase is an example of Tru’s flair. Mon–Thu 5:30–10pm, Fri–Sat 5–11pm. $$$$
Hot Tip: By all means, indulge in Chef Rick Tramonto’s Collection, which consists of nine sensuous courses inspired by the day’s finds at the markets.
