Las Vegas
Fountains Brunch at Jasmine Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Center Strip, 702-693-7223 bellagio.com
The Draw: The Bellagio’s Chinese restaurant recently opened its doors for Sunday brunch. With front-and-center views of the Bellagio fountains, and an impressive spread ranging from Peking duck and oysters on the half shell to Bellagio-branded waffles and housemade sausage, what’s not to like? The Scene: This is a special-occasion brunch that attracts a well-heeled crowd, ranging from visiting celebs to local bigwigs. Still, it’s brunch, so Uggs are just as common as stilettos. Brunch Sun 11am–2:30pm, dinner nightly 5:30–10pm. $$$$ Hot Tip: Request a window-side table for prime views of the fountains, and save room for dessert: There’s an entire room dedicated to petits fours, truffles, and chocolate-dipped delicacies.
Simon at Palms Place
Palms Place Hotel, 4381 W. Flamingo Rd., 702-944-3221 simonatpalmsplace.com
The Draw: This local favorite has plenty of star power (everyone from the Miss USA contestants to Avril Lavigne has dined here), not to mention a killer spread—including the White Trash station—and an à la carte menu to boot. The Scene: Kerry Simon’s Sunday brunch draws celebs, negligee-clad models, and silver foxes in silk PJs. This is the place to see and be seen while battling a hangover—oversized glasses encouraged. Brunch Sun 10am–4pm; restaurant daily 7am–11pm. $$$ Hot Tip: Brunch guests get access to the mid-century modern Palms Place pool—typically off-limits to non-hotel guests—so wear your best bikini or coolest board shorts underneath your jammies.
House of Blues Gospel Brunch
Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd., S. 702-632-7600 houseofblues.com
The Draw: This all-you-can-eat Southern extravaganza combines classic dishes—such as jambalaya, red beans and rice, and shrimp and grits—with live gospel music. All we can say is Amen and Hallelujah! The Scene: This brunch is a casual affair that attracts couples, families, and music-lovers of all ages, shapes, and colors. It’s truly a melting pot—the only requirement is that you be willing to get up and shake your booty. Sun–Thu 7:30am–midnight. Fri–Sat 7:30am–1am. Brunch Sun 10am and 1pm. $$$ Hot Tip: You’ll need to buy tickets from the House of Blues box office—and it’s best to book in advance. A $37 ticket gets you in, but it’s well worth the extra $10 for the bottomless mimosas.
