Best Fine Dining

Las Vegas

Bartolotta
Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. S., North Strip, 702-770-3305
wynnlasvegas.com

The Draw: The James Beard Award–winning chef knows his seafood and wants you to eat like an Italian—better than an Italian, in fact, since his fish is more fresh and diverse than you’re likely to find anywhere else.
The Scene: Despite Bartolotta’s prowess in the kitchen, this ornate, Italianate, mansion-like restaurant (where the best seats in the house are lagoon-side cabanas) is still something of a sleeper.  Which is not to say you won’t need reservations—just that it’s a magnet for foodies rather than celebs.
Daily 5:30–10pm. $$$
Hot Tip: We recommend splurging on the Gran Menu di Mare, a $155-per-person family-style extravaganza; the best value is the three-course Taste of Wynn. The menu is offered as an early bird special on weekends and throughout the night during the week.

Sage
Aria, 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Center Strip, 702-590-7757
arialasvegas.com

The Draw: Chicago’s Shawn McClain earned himself a James Beard Award (Best Chef Midwest) for his simple but sophisticated farm-to-table fare. Must-haves include the foie gras crème brulée, Wagyu beef tartare, and crispy sweetbreads.
The Scene: The massive restaurant, with its soaring ceilings and floor to ceiling impressionist frescos, is perfect for a business dinner or romantic tryst. For something a bit more casual, grab a seat at the bar.
Tue–Sat 5–11pm. $$$

Hot Tip: Lura Poland’s deserts, which range from Bordeaux-style canelés to sticky toffee pudding, are nearly as much of a draw as the Windy City expat.

L’atelier de Joël Robuchon
MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Center Strip, 702-891-7777
mgmgrand.com

The Draw: Prices at Joël Robuchon’s atelier are significantly tamer than at his eponymous restaurant next door—not to mention the fact that the décor is hipper, the ambiance livelier, and the clientele younger and sexier.
The Scene: Part sushi bar, part tapas joint, part Michelin-starred restaurant, the 48-seat spot teems with pretty young things, power couples, and foodies. Expect to get cozy with your neighbors, as seating is tight.
Sun–Thu 5:30–10pm, Fri–Sat 5:30–10:30pm. $$$$
Hot Tip: Chef Robuchon is famous for his pommes purees—creamy, buttery mashed potatoes that are simple perfection. If you’re on a budget, try the pre-theater “L’Unique” ($39), a bento-box full of the chef’s favorites.
