Best Late-Night Eats
Las Vegas
FIX Restaurant and Bar Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Center Strip, 702-693-8300 lightgroup.com
The Draw: A stellar cocktail list (order the Cucumber Essence) and haute comfort food by chef Brian Massie make this spot as popular for pre-partying drinks as post-club chow. Bobby Baldwin burgers, lobster tacos, and warm donuts with chocolate and peanut butter dipping sauces are a must. The Scene: Its location, right off the casino floor of the Bellagio, ensures a well-heeled crowd. It doesn’t hurt that the restaurant is constructed entirely from Costa Rican Patouk wood, with undulating ceilings that give it a modern edge. Sun–Thu 5pm–midnight, Fri–Sat 5pm–2am. $$$ Hot Tip: The “Very Adult” mac and cheese is salty, crispy, cheesy perfection. Although the menu fails to mention it, it’s also a no-no for vegetarians. Chef Massie’s take on the classic is actually breaded, truffled mac-and-cheese sticks, an excellent antidote to a night at neighboring nightclub, the Bank.
Raku
5030 Spring Mountain Rd., West Flamingo, 702-367-3511 raku-grill.com
The Draw: Former Megu chef Mitsuo Endo serves up authentic Japanese cuisine in a boîte of a restaurant in Vegas’ Chinatown. Its off-Strip location means prices are a steal. The Scene: Off-duty chefs like Kerry Simon and Paul Bartolotta have made Raku their go-to post-service spot. It’s also a destination for local and visiting foodies, who enjoy dishes such as grilled eggplant with shaved bonita and housemade Agedashi tofu—trust us, it’s good—and the well-edited lists of wine, sake, and sochu. Mon–Sat 6pm–3am. $$ Hot Tip: With only 31 seats, Raku may be the hardest table to book in town, but late-night seats are easier to come by.
Mr. Lucky’s 24/7
4455 Paradise Rd., East Flamingo, 702-693-5000 hardrockhotel.com
The Draw: Mr. Lucky’s serves up great American diner food when you don’t want the pomp and circumstance of high-end Vegas restaurants or typical hotel cafe food. This is the coolest 24-hour coffee shop—with comfort food and rock-‘n’-roll style. The Scene: Come during the graveyard shift and you’ll find some stumblers on the tail end of partying, or starving after a Joint show, along with Hard Rock hotel guests—meaning LA hipsters and other young, stylish crews. Hunker down in a faux-tigerskin booth for award-winning chicken soup, burgers, or über-yummy milkshakes. 24/7 $ Hot Tip: Ask for the super-lucky, off-the-menu special: an 8-ounce New York steak, three grilled shrimp, a baked potato, and a salad.
