The Scene: DJ superstar Steve Aoki’s Tuesday night dance party is a hipster zombie parade that will slap the irony out of you. The Draw: Nu-Rave. Robot rock. Hip-house. Whatever you call it, this music is the sound of Generation Next. Aoki is its poster boy, as evidenced by the American Apparel masses, who go ape shit when DJs like MSTRKRFT, Crookers and the Wax Wizard himself man the wheels of steel. Nightlife photographer, The Cobrasnake, documents all the raucous excess, the barely legal babes and the wannabe/real celebrity sightings (Kanye West, Santogold and “it” girl Corey Kennedy). Hot Tip: The only downside is the biggest upside—the crowd. Waits here can be of DMV proportions, but there’s free vodka from 10–11pm, as if you needed more incentive to come early. It’s also free if you RSVP on Aoki’s website (dimmak.com), or you can test your luck in the line and fork over $10.
The Scene: Break out the leopard print pants and the Poison T-shirt for Monday night madness. This is rock ‘n’ roll debauchery at its finest, complete with obnoxious guitar solos, breast flashing and devil horns salutes. The Draw: The longest running heavy metal show on the Sunset Strip rocks and mocks ‘80s hair metal to the extreme. Part parody, part concert, all party, the "Best Tribute Band in the Universe" (formerly known as Metal Skool and Danger Kitty from the Discover Card commercials) unleashes a Guitar Hero-like soundtrack on a head-bobbing crowd of sentimental 40-somethings and pretty young things who think of glam rock as their “disco.” The between-song banter is even better than the music, especially when celebrities (Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson, Jeremy Piven) or real-life rock gods (Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro) join in on the fun. Hot Tip: If you miss the show in West Hollywood, they take their show on the road with weekly residencies in Las Vegas, Orange County and San Diego.

The Scene:The “dark prince” of avant-garde jazz brings his funky, sex-soaked, smoke-filled party to this retrofitted Hollywood playground on Mondays. The Draw: “Hollywood’s favorite dirty little secret” seems a perfect fit for the revitalized Bardot (formerly the Spider Club) with its vintage speakeasy vibe. The soul cabaret’s namesake ringleader is the love child of Tom Waits and Sammy Davis Jr., taking us on a memorable blues/funk odyssey fueled with scatting lyrics, funky bass lines and psychedelic horns. The Dames provide the eye candy, putting the tease back in striptease with their burlesque come-ons that ensnares audience members. Hot Tip: Like it’s predecessor Spider Club, getting in can be a pain. You will have no chance of getting past the draconian doorman if you aren’t on the list so make it easier on yourself and your ego by reserving a table for dinner/bottle service.
