The Scene: Every Tuesday night the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s (UNAM) Casa de las Humanidades screens films from around the world organized into monthly themes. Each feature is presented by a specialist on the genre and discussion is encouraged afterwards. Attendance is free.

The Scene: With artists like Miro, Picasso, Garcia Marquez, the Hispanic world has long been proud of its cultural heritage, and the Centro Cultural de España (CCEMX) keeps the creative fires stoked. Its first class facilities, exhibits and rooftop bar are a must-see for anyone new to the city. Wednesday nights are all jazz. Starting at 10pm and lasting into the wee hours, you can partake in an around-the-world musical journey.
Hot Tip: Grab a table overlooking the Cathedral for the best breeze, views and sounds in town.

The Scene: Ideal for those looking to get into some of the city’s most groovin’ sounds, El Zinco delivers live Jazz from Wed to Sat, with some Tuesdays thrown in. The cozy, darkly lit bar and restaurant has a small stage that showcases some of the best bands passing through the city.
Hot Tip: Jazz and tacos do mix! Try the tacos de arrachera if you’ve got the munchies.
