Miami
B.E.D. 929 Washington Ave., at 9th St., South Beach, 305-532-9070 bedmiami.com
The Draw: Start the week by crawling back into B.E.D. at this long-running weekly party at one of South Beach's most popular clubs.
The Scene: Heavy on R&B and hip-hop, Secret Society has been the party of choice for celebs like Pitbull and Timbaland, as well as locals who like to party. On Mondays, the noisy fun goes on all night long. Hot Tip: Make dinner reservations too—the tapas are terrific—to take advantage of the trademark beds. You don’t need to wear pajamas, but something loose and loungey might be easier to maneuver than, say, something very, very short and very, very tight.
LIV Nightclub at The Fontainebleau Resort 4441 Collins Ave., Mid-Beach, 305-674-4680 livnightclub.com The Forge 432 41st St., Mid-Beach, 305-538-8533 theforge.com
The Draw: Two classic Miami Beach venues, two fun mid-week parties, both on Wednesdays. Try one or both. The Scene: At the stunning and massive LIV at the Fontainebleau: top-flight deejays, music that ranges from 80s to electro-funk, hip-hop, techno, rock, and everything in-between, plus fun-loving party people and no cover. At The Forge: lavish chandeliers, elegant décor, eclectic music, flowing Champagne, and wide-ranging crowds that include dressed-up locals, wealthy Europeans, and jetsetters, young and old alike. Hot Tip: At The Forge, avoid waiting behind the ropes by eating a late-ish dinner and waltzing right in.
The Draw: For years, gay Miami professionals and party-goers have gathered at this roving cocktail party that meets at a different South Beach hotspot every Tuesday. The Scene: Get your martini on at the best upscale venues—the Mondrian, the Sagamore, the Raleigh, Setai—and, of course, check out local and visiting business hotties at Edison Farrow's popular party, which recently celebrated its eighth anniversary with a fashion show bash at the buzzy LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau. To find out where the next Martini Tuesday takes place, sign up for the e-mail newsletter, which is also packed with news about all the gay and lesbian happenings in South Florida. Hot Tip: Plan on ordering the weekly special martini (Pomegranate? Passion fruit? Extra dirty?—the flavors change with the week.) You can afford to splurge, as there's never a cover charge.
