Miami

Chophouse Miami
300 S. Biscayne Blvd., Downtown Miami, 305-938-9000
miamischophouse.com

The Draw: With a handy downtown location and a wraparound bar with a waterfront view, it’s not tough to impress clients here.
The Scene: Old-school clubby steakhouse with all the trimmings—crab cakes, lobster bisque, Cobb salad, prime sliders, and filet mignon, in oversized portions. Look for dark wood, crisp white table linens, and leather barstools along a long, long bar. Service is friendly and professional; the crowd is relatively young and social. Mon–Thu 11:30am–midnight, Fri–11:30am–2am, Sat 5pm–2am, Sun 5pm–midnight.
Hot Tip: Consider Chophouse Miami for evening schmoozing, too: They’re big on happy hours, Thursday cigar nights, oyster fests, two-for-one bar drinks, and scotch events, all popular with the after-work crowd.

Joe Allen
1787 Purdy Ave., South Beach, 305-531-7007
joeallenrestaurant.com

The Draw: Power brokers and savvy locals hang out at this unpretentious restaurant and bar, where the waitstaff do know their names.
The Scene: Though Joe Allen has locations in New York’s theater district, London, and Paris, don’t mistake this locale for a chic, big-city venue—the décor is low-key and austere, and dress is casual. Mon–Thu 11:30am–11pm, Fri–Sat 11:30am–11:30pm, Sun 11:30am–3:30pm. $$
Hot Tip: The bartenders make a mean martini here. (Note: that does not mean a saketini, a lycheetini, or anything other than gin and vermouth.)

Eos
485 Brickell Ave., Brickell, 305-503-0373
viceroymiami.com

The Draw: A spectacular setting in the new Viceroy Hotel and a menu of healthy Mediterranean cuisine and seafood make for an energizing, rather than draining, midday meal.
The Scene: Located in downtown Miami’s Brickell financial district, this 15th-floor space designed by Kelly Wearstler is stunning—black and white with gold accents. But it’s the view overlooking Biscayne Bay that makes the site extra impressive. Mon–Wed 7am–2pm and 6pm–10pm; Thu–Sat 7am–2pm and 6pm–11pm; Sun 7am–2pm. $$
Hot Tip: Order from the power lunch menu—which includes market fish, ricotta ravioli, and tabouli salad, among other choices—and you’ll receive a complimentary glass of wine, plus free valet parking and WiFi.
