Best Places To Toast

Miami

Dune Oceanfront Burger Lounge
The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, 455 Grand Bay Dr., Key Biscayne
305-365-4500
www.ritzcarlton.com

The Scene: The sun is setting. A briny breeze puffs gauzy cabana curtains. Dig your toes in the sand and raise your glass at one of Miami’s only oceanfront lounges. Look for languid luxury and quiet chic and chill European lounge music rather than noisy South Beach–type  partyers. Wed-Sun 11:30am-sunset. Sunday Lounge Parties 3pm-sunset.
The Clincher: Make this the place to impress your very serious love interest. First, snag one of the curtained lounges. Next, order a couple of Royal Veuves, some oysters and prawns, and a Kobe beef slider topped with foie gras. And then—draw those curtains.

Miami Catamarans
Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, 305-345-4104

The Scene: You promised your significant other the sun, the moon, the stars, and your heart—and the answer was yes. Toast the event on the water, South Florida-style: on a catamaran in tranquil Biscayne Bay. First, stock up on supplies at The Fresh Market (2640 S. Bayshore Dr. in Coconut Grove). Then drive north on Bayshore until you reach the Rickenbacker Causeway. Pay the toll and drive over the big bridge until you see the parking lot for Hobie Beach. Exit on your right and look for the Miami Catamarans van. For two people, a Hobie Wave or Getaway will do. Wed-Sun 10-6.
The Clincher: Biscayne Bay waters are notoriously calm and pleasant. Never sailed a catamaran? No worries—the friendly folks promise you'll be sailing solo after a crash course.

Sardinia Enoteca & Ristorante
1801 Purdy Ave., South Beach, 305-531-2228
www.sardinia-ristorante.com

The Scene:
It may be on the quiet side of South Beach, but Sardinia is rarely quiet. It’s regularly packed with food and wine fans who turn out in droves for rustic platters of vegetables, salami, and cheese; Sardinian flatbread; grilled fish and pastas; and Italian wines served by the glass. Warm and convivial, this place exemplifies la dolce vita. Mon-Fri noon-midnight, Sat-Sun 6pm-midnight.
The Clincher: When it’s time to get the gang together to celebrate a promotion, an engagement, a new kid on the way, commandeer a big table, order up some platters, and tell the waiter to keep the prosecco coming. Salute!
