fourseasons.com

The Draw: This landmark restaurant features a Philip Johnson design, superb
American cuisine, and an aura of power emanating from the well-heeled, beautiful clientele.
The Scene: Fresh oysters daily, steaks, foie gras—this is a place for the top of the food chain. The brass-lined Grill Room sits under cathedral ceilings, while the more romantic Pool Room surrounds a large marble fountain. Mon–Fri noon–2pm and 5–9:30pm, Sat 5–11pm.
Hot Tip: The tables by the Pool Room’s fountain are fantastic, and therefore the first to fill up. Call first and give it a whirl.

Michael’s
24 W. 55th St., Midtown, 212-767-0555
michaelsnewyork.com

The Draw: Where the media elite meet to eat. Michael’s is the definition of the media power lunch in New York City.
The Scene: Tasty California cuisine is served in a breezy, light-filled dining room that feels like a refreshing touch of the Sunshine State in the heart of Midtown. Try the seared scallops, delicately flavored with pomegranate and white basil. Mon–Fri 7:30am–9:30am, noon–2:30pm, and 5:30–10pm, Sat 5:30–10pm.
Hot Tip: “Table One” is the longtime preferred spot for New York City media royalty; take a look as you’re ushered by—you never know who you’ll spot.

Marea
240 Central Park South, Midtown, 212-582-5100
marea-nyc.com

The Draw: This seafood palace, with a superb prix-fixe lunch menu, sits at the fabulous crossroads of Central Park South and Columbus Circle. In short, it’s prime real estate for power-lunching.
The Scene: Casually elegant defines both the ample dining room and the clientele. Generous light streams in over the white-clad tables and dark wood floors. Mon–Thu noon–2:30pm and 5:30–10:30pm, Fri noon–2:30pm and 5–11:30pm, Sat 5–11:30pm.
Hot Tip: For a more discreet spot, ask for a table overlooking the interior garden. Also, make your reservation now: Marea topped Esquire Magazine’s list of Best New Restaurants of 2009, and the crowds are moving in.
