The
Lowdown: A musical frenzy takes place
on midsummer's night all over France. Big-name
concerts are held at Place de la Bastille
and the Hôtel de Ville, but it's best
to choose a local neighborhood (St-Germain,
Latin Quarter, Montmartre) for more varied
musical fare and a local crowd. Blues in bars,
Brazilian bands, African sound systems, and
chamber music create an unmissable party atmosphere.
