The Experimental Cocktail Club 37 rue St-Sauveur, 2nd, 01.45.08.88.09
The Draw: If your idea of midweek fun is a themed soirée with fabulous cocktails and a very cool crowd, The Experimental Cocktail Club is the
spot for you. The Scene: The Experimental Cocktail Club is a forerunner in the field of midweek fun, having launched the Fantastic and Ridiculous Monday of the Unusual Cucumber and Rose Society, which has since spread to London and New York. Of course, every Monday could not possibly be as extraordinary as this, but don’t despair: If your visit does not coincide with this remarkable costume party, there are others. We love Bart&Baker, on midmonth Wednesdays without fail, for its fun jazz’n’swing mix. Hot Tip: Visit the club's Facebook page for information on upcoming parties and to connect with fellow revelers in advance.
Le Paris Paris 5 av de l'Opera, 1st, 01.42.60.64.45 leparisparis.com
The Draw: A luscious crowd congregates for this essential early bird club night. The Scene: Thursdays in Paris have become synonymous with the "after work," a club night that gets going just after work, rather than after midnight as it does on weekends. Club Paris Paris features some of the best DJs and draws some of the hottest wage slaves. The party starts at 7pm, and there's a buffet and happy hour from 10pm to midnight. Groups of four or more girls receive a free bottle of bubbly. Hot Tip: ”Gratuit mais pas entree libre" is the club's motto—“Free entry, but not everybody passes.” So dress up!
Mezzanine de l’Alcazar 62 rue Mazarine, 6th, 01.53.10.19.99 alcazar.fr
The Draw: Live opera while you dine, simply divine! The Scene: The Mezzanine bar at the Alcazar is well known for its DJs (Wednesday to Saturday), but Mondays offer a special treat—opera singers accompanied by piano. Get up close to the musicians with the €24 bar menu, or be serenaded from above if you choose the spacious main room of the contemporary Left Bank brasserie, beloved of the gallery crowds. Hot tip: In the downstairs room, request a table on the right for the best views of the musicians..
