The Draw: This old-fashioned (with a few twists) American seafood house sources fish and shellfish as locally as possible, while still maintaining its East Coast image.
The Scene: Don’t want to sacrifice quality for the simple pleasure of dining after midnight? You wouldn’t expect to find your answer in a non-descript section of Lombard Street, but inside, a warm staff caters to pre-clubbers, serving up light seafood classics. Daily 5:30pm–1am. $
Hot Tip: Hog Island oyster and beer specials start after 11pm and keep the Marina crowd flowing in.

The Draw: Despite its name, Globe serves down-home California comfort food, including a deservedly famous salad lardon and tuna tartare with tapenade.
The Scene: The space, comprised mostly of the metal and exposed brick now known as “industrial chic,” has long been a post-shift watering hole for FiDi chefs. The scene doesn’t get interesting until after 10pm. Mon–Fri 11:30am–3pm and 6pm–1am, Sat 6pm–1am, Sun 6–11:30pm. $$
Hot Tip: Sunday night farm dinners feature local abbondanza and lure Mission and SoMa types; other nights, look for pre-partiers headed to 5A5

The Draw: Chef Ola Fendert, who hails from Stockholm, serves his French-influenced take on local bounty late into the night, but the place starts buzzing with a young, stylish crowd around 10pm. Dig into duck confit, savory Mission fig tart, and tomato soup with grilled gruyere sandwich.
The Scene: The narrow, low-lit space is punctuated with reclaimed wood and Israeli stone, resulting in an atmosphere that is both sultry and edgy. The bar is populated with SoMa workers in for truffle fries and a cocktail, hoping to get snagged on the way home. Sun–Mon 6pm–midnight, Tue–Sat 6pm–1am. $$
Hot Tip: Fendert’s famous souffles are only available on Mondays.
