Drawing from his early experience in the tour operator business, in which itineraries were key to success, his aim was to point readers to the very best possible experience, never settling for the ordinary in short, extraordinary guides for extraordinary travelers. The Greenline Historic Travel Series was launched in 2002 with publication of The 25 Best World War II Sites: Pacific Theater, followed in 2003 by The 25 Essential World War II Sites: European Theater. These books set the series tone, providing a unique combination of history book, contemporary road map to existing sites and a logistical travel guide. The 25 Best Civil War Sites (2005) and Colonial America and the American Revolution: The 25 Best Sites (2006), complete the series to date.
