London

Bar Salsa
96 Charing Cross Rd., WC2, Covent Garden, 020.7379.3277
barsalsa.eu

The Draw: Short of sitting in a corner scowling, you can’t help but meet people here.
The Scene: With excellent classes for every level warming up to sizzling club nights on the weekends, Bar Salsa attracts everything from serious dancers to serious seducers. In between these extremes you’ll find that most have ostensibly come for the music, but just might be on the lookout for more than a dance.
Hot Tip: Side-step the run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex fare and disappointing service.

Heaven
Villers St., Under the Arches, WC2, Covent Garden, 020.7930.2020
heaven-london.com

The Draw: An oldie but goodie, Heaven has the kaleidoscopic mix of fun-seekers that you’d expect from the world’s most famous gay club.
The Scene: Three floors dish out a varied selection of music, from house to R&B to an equally varied crowd that flock here from the world over, whether gay, straight, or undecided. What is certain, however, is that flirting here is as easy as breaking out a smile and a couple of dance moves.
Hot Tip: Two left feet? If you’re prepared to cough up the annual membership fee you can hop along to the VIP bar and mingle with more exclusive, but nonetheless candid, scenesters.

The Long Bar
The Sanderson, 50 Burners St., W1, Fitzrovia, 020.7300.5587
sandersonlondon.com

The Draw: Conversation at the Sanderson’s elegant bar flows as freely as the cocktails, regardless of how many you’ve had.
The Scene: Enduringly popular with the city’s more sophisticated singles, the unsurprisingly long bar here is the perfect spot for seemingly innocent mingling, while the gorgeous candlelit courtyard is more suited to a discreet tête-à-tête. Though the clientele isn’t quite as star-studded as it has been in the past, it’s still a very dressed-up affair.
Hot Tip: Friday night sees the place at it’s flirtatious best.
